The ancient art and science of Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan provides practical tools for embracing life’s challenges with grace, courage, and joy. Kundalini Yoga is safe, simple, and comprehensive. The classes are open to everybody. Through carefully chosen sets of exercises called Kriyas, through breathing exercises, sound currents and Mantras, through specific Meditations we will work and focus on different parts of the body that are directly responsible of our nervous well being. Each of these classes are carefully planned to bring you an experience; strengthened by this experience you will be able to bring another dimension into your consciousness when facing stressful and difficult life situations. You will also gain the most powerful tool to combat stress: the control and awareness of your breath. “Life is one simple challenge, Act, don't react. Calm yourself and claim yourself.” Yogi Bhajan

Yoga for Osteoporosis

Most people who practice yoga know how it changes everything! However, it is always refreshing to have the doctors and scientists confirm it through research. Recent studies, published in peer reviewed medical journals, by Loren Fishman M.D., show that a daily yoga practice of 12 specific poses significantly improves bone density in the spine and femur.

This class is based on the 12 poses recommended by Dr. Fishman and included in his book Yoga for Osteoporosis. It is suitable for anyone interested in maintaining and building bone strength, including those with osteopenia and osteoporosis. A range of modifications will be offered using props and chairs to accommodate each student's individual needs. Students with no prior yoga experience are welcome. As with any exercise program, please consult with your doctor.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly referred to, is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain.  Yoga Nidra is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice where the body is completely relaxed into a state of deep meditative consciousness. While the practitioner rests comfortably in a cozy restorative savasana (corpse pose), this systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self) which consist of the physical body, energetic body, emotional body, wisdom, and bliss bodies. You’ll leave your Nidra practice feeling grounded, relaxed, rejuvenated, inspired and with a greater sense of wholeness. A
